Today Was a Victory!

Greetings, Faoii!

Today was a great victory for us. We were backed by the Break the Bechdel with Strong Female Characters SyndicateAs far as I’m concerned, this is one of the greatest honors anyone could bestow upon our army.  I tried to create a book that defied gender norms and played-out tropes. People are beginning to recognize that.

Between that, the backing from the Teen Reads Syndicateand all of the support I’ve gotten from people across the country, we’re halfway to select publication. And we’re number 7 on the leaderboards for the current Geek and Sundry Fantasy Contest. Don’t forget– if we can get to top 3 of that, we’ll get Mass Publicationprofessional editing, marketing, and everything else. We’ve gotten this far in half the time as everyone else– we can do this, Faoii.

If you haven’t yet, make sure you go to and pick up your blade. Help us win this fight that’s been in the making for 5 long years. You’ll get a signed copy of the book, I’ll reach a dream I’ve been striving for. Our army will be known.

Shield up, Faoii. Let me hear your battle cry!

It is not my place to support a black-and-white law that affects thousands of people I don’t know and whose stories I don’t have business knowing. Personally, however, I’m not sure I can ever see myself in a situation where an abortion is the solution. A lot of people accept this response and say they understand it. Every now and again, though, I get someone who’s pro-choice and they hear the last part and jump in with “but what if you’re raped??”

First of all, I already said that I’m pro-choice and your hypothetical involving the worst possible scenario are not welcome or helpful. Using such a tragedy that happens to thousands of people every year should not help your case in any way, and I kind of hate pro-choicers who take this route. But you know what? Fine. Let’s answer your question. Continue reading
